Health Services Implications of a Teledermatology Consult System

Notes: In a clinical study of particular interest to the wired dermatologist,
investigators at the Department of Veterans Affairs are attempting
to determine whether the use of teledermatology is associated with
improved patient outcomes (including more cost-efficient care). The
study cohort will comprise 260 patients referred for a dermatology
consult for a variety of complaints; participants will be randomized
to receive a standard in-person consult or a teledermatology consult.

Psoriasis Research Study

Notes: Researchers are seeking a cohort of patients with plaque or
patch psoriasis to help test the efficacy of an investigational,
topical medication in the treatment of this condition. Partici-pants
must have received a score of 2, 3, or 4 on the Physician's Static
Global Assessment for psoriasis, and must not be pregnant or suffering
from uncontrolled diabetes, cancer, instable hypertension, or another
skin condition.
